4th grade made Picasso self portraits in his famous cubism style.


The Starry Night

Van Gogh's famous painting, The Starry Night, is not only beautiful but fun to make. 4th grade created a glue and chalk version of the Starry Night. They look amazing!

3rd Grade is making wonderful works out of construction paper like Henri Matisse did in his late art career.

He was nicknamed America's "Brand Name Painter" by TIME because of his impressionist paintings of America's most popular brands. Brendan visited Metzler to share information about his AMAZING art program,

Here is a preview of what we are working on now as we finish our study of art around the world.

  
 

 
3rd Graders are busy working on their Egyptian Sarcophagus'.
 
 Kinder learned about the Taj Mahal in India while 2nd Grade abstract versions of the Eiffel Tower.

1st Grade made masks from Africa and learned about shape and color.
2nd Grade made aboriginal Australian bark  cloths.
     

Our 5th grade ancient Greek pottery is looking great!


4th Grade made beautiful Japanese blossom trees.

First Projects a Success!

Our first projects of the year! BAM! POW! WOW!
Kindergarten learned about line, shape, balance, and proportion while creating SUPER self-portraits.

1st Grade worked with watercolors to create skyline landscapes with pattern, unity, and variety. 2nd Grade learned about color and hue by creating superhero word pop art.

3rd Grade talked about shapes in architecture. They used pattern, repetition, shape, and color to create SUPER cities.

4th Grade learned about types of lines. Their skies SPOTLIGHT their knowledge of line varieties.

5th Grade focused on perception drawing while learning about line, shape, form, value, proportion, and movement. Their super symbols are amazing.
